Rabbi Yaakov Lynn

Head of School
Rabbi Lynn has over 25 years of experience in Education and Educational Leadership. Before moving to Las Vegas, Rabbi Lynn was the Founding Dean and Director of Meorot Yerushalayim seminary in Jerusalem, Israel. After receiving his BA with honors from Binghamton University in 1997, he worked as a journalist and then as a Hillel Director before making the move to Israel. He studied for 15 years in world-renowned institutions including Darche Noam/Shapell’s, Midrash Shmuel and Yeshivas Mir, and received his Rabbinic Ordination from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. Rabbi Lynn's Jewish knowledge, his passion for teaching, his insights into each of his students and the fact that he makes everyone around him feel accepted and loved make him a very popular teacher and leader.

Rabbi Fromowitz hails from a family of educators- teaching is part of his very essence! After receiving Rabbinic ordination from the Rabbinical Seminary of America, Rabbi Fromowitz taught 10 th grade for many years in Yeshiva Zichron Paltiel in Staten Island, New York. He also taught in their Bais Medrash division, guiding and mentoring the older students in their self study program. Rabbi Fomowitz also served as a campus rabbi and Director of Education for Exhibit J- a Staten Island based Jewish Outreach organization. In addition to teaching at Mesivta, Rabbi Fromowitz runs Camp Maarava, a summer program catering to high school aged Yeshiva boys. He brings lots of passion and enthusiasm to the classroom and prides himself on the close bonds he develops with his students.

A talented social worker, Mrs. Lynn has a keen insight into how to help individual students and create positive group dynamics. Originally from Columbia, Maryland, she has a BS in Sociology with a minor in Child Psychology from Simmons College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland with a specialization in Families and Children. Mrs. Lynn's professional experience includes serving as the Director of Behavioral Therapy at Ohio Connections Academy, running her own private therapy practice and running seminars on Executive Functioning, and serving as the Director of Students at Meorot Yerushalayim seminary in Jerusalem, Israel. A mother of six, Mrs. Lynn brings experience, professionalism and a commitment to being a life-long learner to the ZJA team.

DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION
As Director of Education for all Zucker Jewish Academy schools, Dr. Laya Salomon oversees the school’s mission, vision, educational principles, curricula, and teaching and learning standards, ensuring all schools meet high benchmarks for academic success.

Dr. Salomon’s passion is for children and for educating with goals that are learner-centered. She believes in the innate joy of learning and the role of schools in cultivating that joy through targeted, challenging, and personalized learning experiences. She is honored to be a partner in building a network of schools that is committed to educational excellence and effective teaching practices, while rooted in strong Jewish values and beliefs.

In addition to her role at Zucker Jewish Academy, Dr. Salomon serves as the Director of the Master's Program and an Associate Professor at the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education & Administration at Yeshiva University, where she teaches graduate and doctoral-level courses in curriculum, assessment, lesson planning, teaching methods, mentoring, supervision, and leadership.

Adara grew up in Northern Israel. She holds a BA in political science from Yizrael Valley Academic College. Before moving to Las Vegas, Adara worked in a variety of different fields, including serving in the IDF as an office manager, working as a District Office Coordinator in the Israel nature and parks authority, serving as a Bank Teller at Bank HaPoalim and working with students as an interpreter and a research assistant.

Mrs. Benesty has a BA in Education from Wolf Teachers' Seminary in Bnei Brak, Israel. She has been teaching for over 20 years - first in Israel and then as a beloved Kindergarten and 1st Grade teacher at the Yeshiva Day School of Las Vegas. Mrs. Benesty is known for her classroom management - students thrive through the structure she creates which creates an environment in which children can grow and learn. Mrs. Benesty gives over all areas of Jewish culture, law and life with a love and passion which is infectious, and she brings to ZJA a unique approach to teaching Hebrew reading which will help our students become proficient in the language.

Originally from Panama, Mrs. Shavit earned her BA from Panama City University. After moving to Utah, Mrs. Shavit opened her own preschool - becoming the owner, director and primary teacher of the school. Ever since, she has not stopped learning as much as she could about different educational methods and using her creativity and considerable intellect to use those methods to teach children. Mrs. Shavit is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading and writing - this method is today considered the most effective way to teach literacy. Her passion for learning makes her exciting to be around, and the unique tools and lesson plans she continues to create are used by many who follow her on social media.

Miss Stacey has been teaching for over 20 years, most notably in the preschool at San Diego Jewish Academy and the Adelson Educational Campus. She graduated from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. Her professionalism, love of children, and experience in education make her an ideal lead teacher and has made her extremely popular and successful wherever she has been. Miss Stacey's three children and two grandsons live in Las Vegas as well.

Ms. Weiswasser is a dedicated and versatile educator with a wealth of experience in various educational roles throughout New Jersey and Minnesota. She holds a BA in Social Sciences from Concordia University, and her experience as a behavioral therapist and a paraprofessional gives her a deep understanding of child development and behavior management. Her teaching style not only encourages learning, but also promotes social and emotional development, fostering a strong sense of trust and security among the children in her care.

Mrs. Shabtai holds a BA in Early Childhood Education and Special Needs from Tel Aviv University. She has been teaching preschool for 17 years, previously at Temple Beth Shalom, the Adelson Educational Campus as well as preschools in California. Wherever she has taught, "Morah Revi" is beloved by children and parents, and her particular skill at teaching the Hebrew language has impacted many of her students.

Mrs. Blankier holds degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Literature, Bible Studies and Elementary Education. After working for the Israeli government for many years, Mrs. Blankier held teaching positions in preschools in Arizona and Canada before relocating to Las Vegas, where she taught at the Adelson Educational Campus. Mrs. Blankier is known for her creativity and her passion for and love of each child she teaches.

Originally from Los Angeles, CA, Leetal grew up watching her mother, an extremely talented kindergarten teacher, teach Judaics to children from Israeli families. Now that she has relocated with her family to Las Vegas, Leetal brings her own passion for Judaism and teaching to ZJA. Leetal served as "Eim Bayit" at Meorot Yerushalayim seminary in Jerusalem, and she was trained as a Judaics teacher by Rabbi Yitzchak Berkowitz, one of the preeminent Jewish Outreach experts and Torah scholars of our time.

Tehila Solomon studied in the naval high school in Israel and served in Israel's navy. After running her own business for several years, she decided to direct her passion to teaching, first as a preschool teacher at Shenker Academy and as a volunteer at The Adelson Educational Campus. Tehila's passion is for recognizing each child's individual strengths, needs and growth curve and ensuring that he or she receive all they need in the classroom.
